Inquiry
Alfa Cytology provides comprehensive viral packaging services designed to accelerate clients' cancer research and gene delivery needs. Leveraging an advanced viral vector production platform that integrates lentivirus, adenovirus, and adeno-associated virus (AAV) systems, our senior scientists are dedicated to delivering high-quality, high-titer, and reproducible viral packaging solutions tailored to meet your specific research requirements.
Introduction to Virus Packaging
Viral vectors are core tools for gene delivery in cancer research and gene therapy, enabling efficient transfer of exogenous genes, RNAi elements, or CRISPR/Cas systems into diverse cell types and in vivo models. The choice of vector directly affects transduction efficiency, expression stability, immunogenicity, and experimental reliability, and should therefore be guided by integration capability, packaging capacity, tissue tropism, immunogenicity, and expression duration. Integrating vectors, such as lentivirus, support long-term stable expression for permanent genetic modification, whereas non-integrating vectors, such as adenovirus and AAV, persist episomally and are better suited to transient expression and safety-sensitive applications. Packaging capacity, tissue tropism, and immunogenicity further determine whether a vector is optimal for systemic delivery, targeted applications, long-term in vivo studies, or vaccine development. Matching these properties to the experimental goal is therefore essential for generating reliable and translatable data.

Our Services
As a preclinical CRO specializing in oncology, Alfa Cytology provides comprehensive viral packaging services covering lentivirus, adenovirus, and AAV to meet diverse research needs ranging from in vitro gene modulation to in vivo gene delivery. Each viral batch is subjected to rigorous quality control, including titer determination, purity assessment, and functional validation, to ensure reliability and reproducibility in your downstream applications.
Lentiviral Packaging Services
Lentiviruses are capable of infecting both dividing and non-dividing cells and integrate the gene of interest into the host genome, enabling long-term stable gene expression or silencing. We offer a variety of vector systems (overexpression, shRNA, CRISPR/Cas) and support the configuration of multiple reporter genes (GFP, mCherry, Luciferase) and selection markers (Puromycin, Blasticidin, Neomycin). Our optimized packaging system ensures high titers and high transduction efficiency, making it suitable for a wide range of cell types, including cell lines, primary cells, and stem cells.
Adenoviral Packaging Services
Adenoviral vectors feature large packaging capacity (up to 8–10 kb), high transduction efficiency, and lack of genomic integration, making them ideal for protein overexpression, transient gene function modulation, and vaccine development applications. We support multiple serotypes (Ad5 and others) and promoter options, providing high-titer adenovirus production to meet diverse research needs ranging from in vitro experiments to in vivo pharmacodynamic studies.
Adeno-Associated Virus (AAV) Packaging Services
AAV is characterized by low immunogenicity, non-integration into the host genome, and diverse tissue tropisms, making it the gold-standard vector for targeted in vivo gene delivery. We support a broad range of serotypes (AAV1–AAV9 and custom variants) to target different tissues and organs, including the brain, liver, muscle, retina, and heart. Our optimized production system delivers high-purity, high-titer AAV, suitable for in vivo pharmacodynamic evaluation and gene therapy research.

Workflow of Viral Packaging Service
Project Consultation and Vector Construction
Select the appropriate viral system (lentivirus/adenovirus/AAV) based on research objectives. Design and construct vectors carrying the gene of interest, RNAi, or CRISPR/Cas components. All constructs are verified by sequencing prior to proceeding to production.
Viral Packaging and Production
Co-transfect the vector with helper plasmids into packaging cells (293T/293FT, etc.). Amplify production in serum-free culture systems and harvest viral supernatants.
Purification and Concentration
Perform viral purification and concentration using ultracentrifugation, PEG precipitation, or chromatography to remove impurities and obtain high-purity, high-titer viral stocks.
Quality Control Assays
Conduct titer determination (qPCR/ddPCR/TCID50), purity assessment (SDS-PAGE/HPLC), endotoxin testing, and sterility testing to ensure batch-to-batch consistency and safety.
Functional Validation
Validate viral activity in target cells by assessing expression of the transgene or modulation efficiency, confirming that the virus possesses the expected biological function.
Delivery and Downstream Application Support
Deliver viral products accompanied by a comprehensive quality control report, and provide ongoing support for downstream in vitro/in vivo applications and data interpretation.
