RNA Interference Services
Inquiry
RNAi vectors are a core technology for studying loss-of-function, validating tumor targets, and dissecting signaling pathway dependencies. Alfa Cytology has extensive expertise in RNAi vector construction. Leveraging optimized shRNA design algorithms and a diverse vector system, we provide gene silencing vectors with high knockdown efficiency. Our senior scientists can tailor shRNA vector solutions based on your target gene information and experimental system, and ensure knockdown efficiency and specificity through a rigorous quality control system, supporting your complete workflow from loss-of-function studies to target validation and drug screening.
Introduction to RNA Interference Vector
RNA interference (RNAi) is a double-stranded RNA-mediated post-transcriptional gene silencing mechanism in which small hairpin RNA (shRNA) is processed into small interfering RNA (siRNA), which then guides the RNA-induced silencing complex (RISC) to recognize and degrade target mRNA, thereby achieving specific knockdown of the gene of interest. Compared with gene knockout, RNAi enables reversible downregulation of gene expression without altering the genomic sequence, making it particularly suitable for cancer essential gene studies, gene function validation, and anti-tumor drug target screening. In oncology research, RNAi has been widely applied in tumor suppressor gene functional validation, synthetic lethality screening, drug resistance mechanism elucidation, and anti-cancer drug target discovery. Cancer cells transduced with RNAi vectors can achieve stable gene knockdown, providing an ideal tool for long-term tumor functional studies. Depending on experimental objectives, RNAi can be implemented through two strategies: transient transfection (siRNA) or stable expression (shRNA vectors). Transient transfection enables rapid gene knockdown within 24–72 hours post-transfection, making it suitable for short-term tumor functional validation; stable expression, achieved through lentivirus-mediated shRNA integration or drug selection, establishes cancer cell lines with long-term stable knockdown, making it suitable for long-window tumor functional studies and in vivo transplantation experiments.
